We collaborate with the following organizations with a community mission located
in the building:
1) RIVO (An intervention network for people subjected to organized crime)
2) The Mennonite Fellowship of Montreal (MFM)
1) RIVO (Intervention Network for People Subjected to Organized Crime)
In 1999, an intervention group for people subjected to torture formed together
under the network of RIVO. RIVO was recognized as a non-profit organization on the
4th of March 1993.
Members of RIVO come from different organizations and fields of work such as
social workers, community workers, mental health, medicine, and law, to name a few.

Objectives
·
To intervene for people who have lived through organized crime and favor the
integration of their traumatic experience.
·
To sensitize the community center and give training to coordinators so that they
may respond better to the needs of the target population.
·
To develop contacts with authorities and organizations working with this
population.
Services
·
Interventions such as psychosocial, psychotherapeutic, medical, accompaniment,
art therapy, musical activities, message therapy and others.
·
The sensitization/training of helpers in the services of first aid, of non-profit
and community organizations, school environment, etc.
·
The reflection and action concerning legal transformations and multi-sector needs
to better accommodate people who have been subjected to organized crime.
·
Privileged relations with organizations working with immigrants and refugees in
Montreal, as well as Quebec and the rest of Canada.
·
International exchanges with countries having been subjected to organized crime,
wishing to put into place prevention centers against repression and torture.
2) Mennonite Fellowship of Montreal (MFM)
MFM is a religious Mennonite assembly of approximately 50 members that meet every
Sunday morning in the gymnasium of the House of Friendship. The minister
Lucille Marr have her
office at the House of Friendship. MFM is part of a larger association that
regroups about a hundred similar assemblies. This association is called the
Mennonite Church of Eastern Canada. The Mennonite Churches are a Protestant
denomination that sets itself apart by its pacifist theology.
The House of Friendship is a Christian ministry of the Mennonite Church of
Eastern Canada. The majority of the members of the administration council of the
House of Friendship come from MFM.
